Suzuki Motor Corporation, the Japanese parent company of Maruti Suzuki, India\u2019s largest carmaker, has forayed into a new line of business. Launched in July 2025, the company\u2019s pre-packaged Indian vegetarian curry has become a significant hit, selling over 100,000 packets in just three months. <\/p>\n

Initially intended for its Indian employees, the curry has gained popularity across Japan. Suzuki employs around 200 Indian workers, primarily in the engineering department, and aimed to create a homely environment for them by offering Indian cuisine. In January 2024, the company began serving Indian curry in its cafeteria.<\/p>\n

Who Has The Automotive Giant Partnered With?<\/h2>\n

The automotive firm has partnered with long-standing restaurant Torizen to venture into the Indian curry business. Initially providing packaged Indian curries exclusively to its employees, the company has now expanded sales beyond its premises. The curry has quickly gained popularity in Japan.<\/p>\n

Suzuki Begins Marketing Its Curry Brand In Japan<\/h2>\n

Seeing the growing popularity of its product, Suzuki has begun marketing it commercially. What started as a service for employees has now been launched across Japan under the brand name \u2018Suzuki Cafeteria Indian Vegetarian Curry\u2019. Introduced in June 2025, the ready-to-eat curry has already sold over 100,000 packets. The meal is simple to prepare, just place the packet in boiling water, and it\u2019s ready to serve.<\/p>\n

How Much Does One Curry Packet Cost?<\/h2>\n

Suzuki has launched the curry in four flavours so far \u2013 carrot sambar, tomato curry, pea masala, and moong dal curry. According to reports, each packet costs 918 yen, roughly Rs 500. The company now plans to introduce 14 additional flavours.<\/p>\n
