Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday evening left a heartwarming message for the retiring Rohan Bopanna, saying that his character showed in his every serve, adding how the latter proved that belief can outlast time. The latter hung up his boots from professional tennis earlier in the day.<\/p>\n

The 45-year-old Bopanna made his final ATP Tour appearance at the Paris Masters, partnering Kazakhstan\u2019s Alexander <\/span>Bublik<\/span>, but the pair bowed out in the opening round earlier this week.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an emotional note titled \u201cA Goodbye\u2026 But Not The End,” Bopanna announced he was \u201cofficially hanging up his racquet,” reflecting on a brilliant journey that took him from Coorg to the grandest stages of world tennis.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bopanna concluded his India career after the 2024 Paris Olympics, having earlier retired from Davis Cup in 2023 after his final tie against Morocco in Lucknow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bopanna, who enjoyed a 22-year career, described tennis as more than just a sport, <\/span>a source of \u201cpurpose, strength, and belief” through life\u2019s toughest moments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bopanna paid tribute to his family as well, crediting them for their support throughout his career.<\/p>\n

Bopanna thanked his parents for their sacrifices, his sister Rashmi for her constant encouragement and his wife Supriya for being his \u201cgreatest partner off court.”.<\/p>\n

Bopanna dedicated a heartfelt note to his daughter, Tridha, saying that she gave him \u201cnew purpose and a softer strength.”<\/p>\n
