YouTube has brought a wide array of AI features in recent months and soon you will see it affect the video quality on the platform. YouTube is going to use AI to upscale video quality for mobile viewers and this will be rolling out over the next few weeks. <\/span><\/p>\n

The platform wants to enable upscaling up to 4K resolution but initially it will focus on delivering SD quality content to a higher level. YouTube is calling it Super Resolution that will reflect when the AI model detects the quality issue and upscales it for the user.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

YouTube AI-Powered Video Upscaling: How It Will Work<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

YouTube says if a video is lower than 1080p resolution the platform will use AI to generate a higher version of the content. Its goal is to make it happen for up to 4K resolution and the custom video option will come with the \u2018Super Resolution\u2019 label.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

YouTube is going to start the process for videos uploaded below 1080p quality which means you go from SD to HD resolution on the platform for the older content.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The company is clear that even though the video upscaling is done using AI automatically, it will allow users and content creators to opt out of using the new feature. The company will ensure that creators have access to their original content in the uploaded quality and they can continue offering the same for the users.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For the people watching videos, they will see the new version of the content with the special label and they can continue watching it in the original uploaded quality.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to these changes, YouTube is going deeper with Shorts videos. Adobe and YouTube have teamed up so that you can edit short videos on the former\u2019s editing tools like Premiere Pro. The deal was announced at an Adobe event in California this week, which interestingly involves Apple\u2019s iPhone app for the Adobe editing platform.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Most creators use iPhones to shoot videos and shorts, and Adobe is making the edit tool compatible with the iOS Premiere app so that you can easily tap and cut the short video without going through multiple apps and processes. Shorts videos have become popular with platforms like Reels and TikTok leading the charge. <\/span><\/p>\n
