Smriti Mandhana just could not believe that she was given out in the ICC Women\u2019s Cricket World Cup 2025 semi-final between India and Australia at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The Indian vice-captain was spotted shaking her head in disbelief after the third umpire overturned the on-field umpire\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n

On the second ball of the 10th over, Kim Garth bowled it down the leg side with Alyssa Healy up to the stumps. Smriti missed the flick, and Healy moved swiftly to her right to catch it. Both Healy and Garth appealed, but the umpire turned it down and signalled a wide.<\/p>\n

After some thought, Healy opted for a review.<\/p>\n

Mandhana shook her head when asked by her batting partner Jemimah Rodrigues.<\/p>\n

When the third umpire took a closer look, UltraEdge showed a spike as the ball passed the bat.<\/p>\n

Mandhana was left shocked and walked off, shaking her head.<\/p>\n

India Face Record Chase<\/h2>\n

Australia showcased an impressive batting performance in the second semifinal of the ICC Women\u2019s ODI World Cup in Navi Mumbai, posting a formidable 338 against India on Thursday. Phoebe Litchfield led the charge with a superb 119 off just 93 balls, supported by Ellyse Perry\u2019s solid 77 from 88 and Ashleigh Gardner\u2019s explosive 63 off 45. The trio capitalised on favourable batting conditions after being asked to bat first.<\/p>\n

India\u2019s bowlers faced challenges in maintaining consistency, particularly Kranti Gaud and the spinners who struggled to exert pressure. Renuka Singh bowled with discipline, while Deepti Sharma provided a late spark, claiming two wickets in the final over. Australia lost Alyssa Healy early for one run, dismissed by Kranti following a brief reprieve from Harmanpreet Kaur\u2019s dropped catch.<\/p>\n

Litchfield and Perry then established a strong 100-run partnership off 85 balls, capitalising on loose deliveries. Litchfield\u2019s aggressive strokeplay illuminated the innings as she raced to her century before being bowled by Amanjot Kaur. Perry and Beth Mooney contributed 40 runs before a minor collapse ensued. However, Gardner\u2019s powerful hitting in the death overs, including two massive sixes, propelled Australia well past 300, concluding at a daunting 338 and leaving India facing a challenging chase.<\/p>\n
