Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Patna MP Ravi Shankar Prasad launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during News18\u2019s special election event \u2018Sabse Bada Dangal Bihar 2025\u2019, calling him a \u201cpolitical tourist” and a \u201cnon-serious politician.” Responding to Gandhi\u2019s recent remark that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would \u201ceven dance on stage for votes”, Prasad said Rahul Gandhi treats politics like sightseeing. \u201cHe does everything a tourist does. He is a non-serious politician,” he remarked.<\/p>\n

Prasad further criticised Rahul Gandhi\u2019s past statements in Parliament, recalling his comments during the 75th year of the Indian Parliament. \u201cWhen Parliament completed 75 years, he made weird statements. Rahul Gandhi should learn respect for institutions \u2014 the Prime Minister\u2019s post carries dignity,” he said, adding in Hindi, \u201cAapka tutor kaun hai? Badalne ki zarurat hai.<\/em> (Who is your tutor? You must change them).”<\/p>\n

Taking a jibe at Gandhi\u2019s lineage, Prasad said, \u201cHe is the Opposition leader because of his family, where many have been Prime Ministers. He should understand the respect that comes with that position.” The senior BJP leader also alleged that Gandhi often speaks what others teach him, saying, \u201cRahul Gandhi ko koi padhaa deta hai, vo vahi bol dete hain<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

When asked about speculation around a possible change in Bihar\u2019s leadership, Prasad firmly dismissed it. \u201cThere is no CM post vacancy. Nitish Kumar is our Chief Minister and the face for the next election. He has done good work for Bihar,” he said. Prasad credited the BJP-JD(U) government for improving infrastructure, creating jobs, and empowering women through schemes like Jeevika Didi. \u201cThose who have no chance of forming a government are raising such questions,” he added.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the development in Bihar under Nitish Kumar\u2019s leadership, Prasad contrasted the present with the \u201cjungle raj” of the past. \u201cThat era was about fear and corruption. Today, Bihar has peace, honesty, and growth. We had only three polytechnics once \u2014 now we have more than 15. We have world-class roads, airports, and rail connectivity,” he said.<\/p>\n

Boasting of modern infrastructure, he added, \u201cEight Vande Bharat trains run from Patna. Patna\u2019s roads are no less than Mumbai\u2019s Marine Drive.”<\/p>\n

On a lighter note, Prasad interacted warmly with News18\u2019s Amitabh Sinha, asking in Bhojpuri, \u201cAirport theek laga ki nahi? Aur kaa chaha ji? Aur bhi karenge<\/em> (Did you like the airport? What else do you want? We\u2019ll do more).”<\/p>\n
