Diljit Dosanjh reacts to racist comments in Australia ahead of his Sydney show.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Diljit Dosanjh\u2019s massive AURA World Tour is pulling fans together across borders \u2014 yet the singer revealed that even today, racism is a reality he cannot escape. Ahead of his Sydney concert, he opened up about insulting online comments targeting him right after he landed in Australia.<\/p>\n

Diljit Dosanjh has been performing to packed stadiums worldwide as part of his AURA tour. Before his recent Sydney concert, he shared a behind-the-scenes video showing how he prepares to give fans the best show possible, no matter the challenges.<\/p>\n

Inside the huge CommBank Stadium, Diljit walked across the stage, checked equipment, and discussed a technical glitch that was causing him trouble. He explained that his background track was not syncing with his vocals.<\/p>\n

\u201cExactly one year ago, I played a song in New Delhi, and even then I faced this same issue on the first day. My voice and the backing track aren\u2019t in sync, but I hope that it gets fixed. People come out here, all dressed up and excited, and it is my responsibility to ensure they have fun,” said Diljit.<\/p>\n

However, his video took a more serious turn as he discussed racism he faced upon arrival in Australia. He said someone forwarded him the comments section of a paparazzi post about him landing in the country \u2014 and the remarks were shocking.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cWhen I landed in Australia, some agencies reported it. Someone sent me the comments section of one of those reports. People were saying things like, \u2018The new Uber driver is here,\u2019 or \u2018The new 7\/11 employee has landed.\u2019 I have seen a lot of these racist comments. But people are fighting against it as well, because they have struggled a lot to create a space for themselves. I think the world should be one, and there should be no borders.”<\/p>\n

Despite the negativity, Diljit refused to let hate bring him down. He added, \u201cI don\u2019t mind being compared to a cab or truck driver. If truck drivers cease to exist, you won\u2019t get bread for your home. I\u2019m not angry, and my love goes out to everyone, even the ones who say things like that about me.”<\/p>\n
