The wait is over! The makers of Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda<\/a> in the lead role, have dropped the trailer of the film this Wednesday, on October 29. The trailer offers a glimpse into the life of one of the greatest patriots and the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal.<\/p>\n

In the trailer, Agastya steps into the role of the heroic soldier who is all set to go to war at the young age of 21 and doesn\u2019t fear even death. The trailer opens with Agastya announcing that he will earn the next Param Vir Chakra for his regiment.<\/p>\n

It then cuts to him declaring that the soldiers of his regiment will train for an extra two hours every day. While briefly touching upon his romantic life, the trailer also gives a peek into the deadly war. Veteran actor Dharmendra portrays Arun\u2019s grandfather, who often shares tales of bravery from his past, with a young Arun listening in awe.<\/p>\n

Jaideep Ahlawat features as a Pakistani army officer who tells Dharmendra that Arun Khetarpal\u2019s heroism is admired not just in India but also across the border. The film is directed by National Award\u2013winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan.<\/p>\n

Ikkis Teaser<\/strong><\/p>\n

The teaser, shared along with the release date, is emotional and powerful. It starts with a letter written during the 1971 Battle of Basantar, informing Arun Khetarpal\u2019s father that his son had died in action on December 16. The letter offers condolences for his loss. After this, we see scenes of war shown in dark silhouettes, followed by glimpses of Arun Khetarpal bravely fighting the enemies on the battlefield.<\/p>\n

About the film<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ikkis is directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Dinesh Vijan\u2019s Maddock Films.<\/a> It tells the real-life story of Arun Khetarpal. Speaking to PTI, Raghavan shared that the film will stay true to reality and won\u2019t dramatise Khetarpal\u2019s story in a superhero-like way. \u201cIt\u2019s not a comic-book hero version,” he said. The film skips over his early years and focuses on his time as a young soldier who gave his life for the country just after turning 21.<\/p>\n

He further revealed, \u201cIt is a bigger production; there will be tank battles and all those things that happen in a war film. But it is also a human story; it\u2019s a drama, a coming-of-age kind of a thing.”<\/p>\n
