Jewellery and fashion designer Anu Merton speaks to News18 about celebrating Indian jewellery and beauty with Lakm\u0113.<\/h2>\n

\u201cI stand for handmade in India,” expresses jewellery and fashion designer Anu Merton, as she proudly shows you the statement jewellery pieces from her eponymous label, at Lakm\u0113 Fashion Week<\/a> x FDCI in New Delhi.<\/p>\n

Anu Merton graced the masterclass with Lakm\u0113, looking like a vision in her white chikankari kurta-salwar paired with a Rajesh Pratap Singh jacket and layered with her signature jewellery pieces.<\/p>\n

In conversation with News18, Anu Merton spoke about celebrating Indian beauty and jewellery in a one-of-a-kind collaboration with Lakm\u0113.<\/p>\n

Celebrating India With Jewellery And beauty<\/h4>\n

As someone who grew up watching her mother wear Lakm\u0113, it was indeed an emotional moment to have the opportunity to collaborate with one of India\u2019s biggest beauty brands. \u201cI stand for India, and I stand for handmade in India. My jewellery is very Indian. I love this country, and coming together with Lakme was very organic,” says Anu Merton.<\/p>\n

And it shows! Anu curated a special line to match Lakm\u0113\u2019s Be-Jewel collection. There was traditional jewellery, the signature barq pendant and quirky bejewelled sunglasses to match the new shimmery beauty line.<\/p>\n

Anu, who loves layering her jewellery, shared that the collection pieces were perfect to layer with Lakm\u0113\u2019s Be-Jewel collection. When asked if she had to pick one product of Lakm\u0113 from this collaboration and match it with the jewellery that she has designed, which one would it be? \u201cI would pick the Lakm\u0113 Be-Jewel Shimmer Lip Liquid or Lakm\u0113 Be-Jewel Satin Eye Tint and style it with the Ranvas Glasses,” says Anu.<\/p>\n

Understanding The Indian Skin<\/h4>\n

During the masterclass, Anu highlighted an interesting aspect about the Indian skin and how one can understand their undertone by the colour of one\u2019s veins. \u201cAn undertone is defined by the colour of your vein. Turn your wrist and see the colour of your vein. If it is green you usually have a warm undertone. If it is blue or purple you have a cooler undertone. If you have both, then you are blessed. You are absolutely neutral,” shares Anu.<\/p>\n

However, at the same time, Anu stresses the fact that one shouldn\u2019t restrict themselves and have fun with their preferences when it comes to jewellery. \u201cThere are no rules in fashion, no rules in jewellery. Even if you have a warm undertone don\u2019t be scared to wear your silver. Because at the end of the day it is about having fun with what you have and who you are,” expresses Anu Merton.<\/p>\n
