West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of spreading fear and division through its NRC campaign, after a 57-year-old man from North 24 Parganas reportedly took his own life in panic over the National Register of Citizens (NRC).<\/p>\n
The deceased, identified as Pradeep Kar, a resident of Mahajati Nagar in Agarpara, was found hanging from the ceiling inside his home. Local residents discovered the body and informed the police.
