Chhath Puja 2025: Four-Day Long Festivities<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Day 1: Nahay Khay \u2013 Saturday, October 25, 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The first day of Chhath Puja, known as Nahay Khay, is marked by devotees taking a holy bath in rivers or ponds and preparing for the rituals. Just after the bath, they eat a sattvic meal prepared without the use of onion or garlic, signifying the beginning of spiritual purification.<\/p>\n

Day 2: Kharna \u2013 Sunday, October 26, 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Devotees observe a strict fast without even consuming water until sunset. On the second day, after the day-long fast, devotees prepare kheer using jaggery, coconut and rice. Along with the kheer, roti and fruits are offered as prasad to the deities. After performing rituals, devotees end the fast by consuming the prasad.<\/p>\n

Day 3: Sandhya Arghya \u2013 Monday, October 27, 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On this day, devotees offer arghya to the setting sun while standing in water. In the evening, devotees offer prayers. They also carry bamboo baskets loaded with thekua, fruits and sugarcane to the local river bodies for offerings and rituals.<\/p>\n

Day 4: Usha Arghya \u2013 Tuesday, October 28, 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The last day is devoted to worship of the rising sun. The offering of arghya is followed by ending the fast and distribution of prasad among family and community, thus showing the feeling of thankfulness and peace.<\/p>\n
