Star Indian batter Rohit Sharma lauded the passion for the sport down under following India\u2019s win over the Aussies in he third and final ODI between the sides at the SCG.<\/p>\n

Rohit starred with an unbeaten 121-run knock to help the visitors conclude the series with a consolation win after Australia had picked up an unassailable lead to wrap up the three-match series with victories in the first two games.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are a tough opposition as we have seen over the years, the way they play their cricket, they really enjoy their cricket, they really enjoy being out there in the middle and it is nice to compete with guys like these,” he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey never let anything come to you easy, you always have to work really really hard for it,” Rohit added.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing here, and playing with the guys so many times it is very important to stand up and get the best out of whatever experience that you have against these guys,” the former Indian skipper said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are a quality team, there is no doubt about that. Unfortunately we couldn\u2019t win the series but I think it is still relatively a very young team a lot of the guys haven\u2019t been here playing white-ball cricket and we take a lot of positives from here especially Harshit Rana who\u2019s been playing white-ball cricket for the first time in Australia, the way he bowled in both the games, Perth was obviously a shortened game but looking at how he bowled in Adelaide and also Sydney it was a fantastic effort from the team,” he lauded the bowling unit.<\/p>\n

Rohit went on to allude to the passion with which fans in the region approach the game and also wished the Indian side slated to take on Australia in the subsequent T20 series set to follow.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Australia, the crowd never disappoints, they come out in large numbers to watch cricket because with two good teams playing they want to watch quality cricket, and that is what you get with these two teams,” he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, we couldn\u2019t cross the line but we enjoy coming here and playing here and really grateful to the crowd for their support throughout Australia they have been superb and I hope they continue to do that we\u2019ve got the T20 series coming up and I hope to continue to do that with each one of them who are going to represent the country, its a great ocassion and I wish them the best,” the 38-year-old said.<\/p>\n
