Harmanpreet Kaur\u2019s India will wrap up the league stage of the Women\u2019s World Cup with a clash against neighbours Bangladesh, at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy ground in Navi Mumbai, with the subcontinental clash bringing an end to the almost month-long affair.<\/p>\n

India will face Australia in the second semifinal at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday. The seven-time champions bagged the top spot on the points table after thrashing South Africa in their final league game on Saturday, October 25, while India\u2019s victory over Bangladesh would not affect their fourth-place finish.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even with a victory over Bangladesh, India can reach a maximum of eight points, which will still leave them behind third-placed England, who have nine points and could extend their tally to 11 with a win against New Zealand on Sunday, October 26.<\/span><\/p>\n

With their tournament hopes on the line, India fired on all cylinders to overcome New Zealand and bag a semifinal berth in a rain-affected game that, for them, did not push their limits.<\/span><\/p>\n

India capitalised on the favourable batting conditions early on, posting 340\/3 in 49 overs thanks to hundreds from openers Smriti <\/span>Mandhana<\/span> and <\/span>Pratika<\/span> Rawal before rain intervened. <\/span><\/p>\n

Star batter Jemimah Rodrigues added the much-needed momentum at No. 3 with a quick unbeaten 76.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bangladesh\u2019s World Cup campaign came to an end after they fell short of nine runs in the final over against Sri Lanka in a tense clash at Navi Mumbai\u2019s DY Patil Stadium a few days ago, despite valiant efforts from <\/span>Shorna<\/span> Akter<\/span> (3\/27), skipper <\/span>Nigar<\/span> Sultana (77) and <\/span>Sharmin<\/span> Akhter (64*).<\/span><\/p>\n
