India to face-off against Australia in the ICC Women\u2019s World Cup 2025 semi-final (AP)<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

India will take on Australia in the semi-final of the ICC Women\u2019s Cricket World Cup 2025 after the Aussies outclassed South Africa by seven wickets at Indore\u2019s Holkar Cricket Stadium on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The hosts had secured a place in the semi-finals with a convincing victory over New Zealand at Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday. Harmanpreet Kaur-led side, along with Australia, England and South Africa, will be competing for a spot in the final.<\/p>\n

How India Reached Semis?<\/h2>\n

India started their campaign with consecutive wins against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, but then suffered three successive defeats to South Africa, Australia, and England.<\/p>\n

In a crucial match against New Zealand, the two-time runners-up displayed dominance with the bat and followed up with a clinical performance with the ball to secure two points.<\/p>\n

Following their victory over the White Ferns, India now have six points from three wins. Both New Zealand and Bangladesh can also reach six points with wins in their final fixtures.<\/p>\n

However, even if India lose their last match against Bangladesh, they will advance based on the number of wins \u2014 the primary tiebreaker for teams finishing level on points at the ICC Women\u2019s Cricket World Cup 2025.<\/p>\n

Defending champions Australia were the first team to qualify for the semi-finals after their win against Bangladesh. The only unbeaten team in the tournament, Australia, sit atop the eight-team standings with 13 points from seven matches.<\/p>\n

The Proteas became the second team to qualify and finished in second with 10 points.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, four-time winners England secured their semi-final spot by narrowly defeating India.<\/p>\n

England will play either South Africa in the other semi-final.<\/p>\n

The first semi-final will take place on 29 October at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, while the second semi-final will be held at Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai the following day.<\/p>\n
