Rajat Bedi reveals that prior to The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, he had ‘cold called’ filmmakers and while they promised to consider him for their next projects, they never called him.<\/h2>\n

Not many know that Rajat Bedi, who made a smashing comeback with The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, comes from a film family. He\u2019s born to filmmaker Narendra Bedi, who made hit films like Jawani Diwani, Bandhan and Rafoo Chakkar. He\u2019s the grandson of director and writer Rajinder Singh Bedi who\u2019s known for classics like Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Abhimaan and Satyakam. Much like his father, who started his career with GP Sippy, Rajat too forayed into films by assisting Ramesh Sippy on Zamana Deewana. <\/p>\n

Rajat\u2019s sister Ila Bedi Dutta served as the screenplay writer of Agneepath and a bunch of television shows. She also co-wrote Sanjay Leela Bhansali\u2019s Love & War starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, the shoot for which is currently underway. Now, speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Rajat reveals that Ila, who often suggests his name filmmakers, requested SLB to cast him for his film. However, it didn\u2019t work out. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy sister is a very, very talented writer. She recommends my name to filmmakers. I\u2019ve an elder brother (Manik Bedi; actor and producer) also. I\u2019m the youngest in the family. She\u2019s always looking out for the both of us. She went and told Sanjay sir, \u2018Take my brother, na. Please see if any role suits him.\u2019 Whenever she writes for a film, she scouts for roles for me,” says the Jaani Dushman and Koi Mil Gaya actor. <\/p>\n

Even after appearing in a few hit films, Rajat had a tough time getting roles in the past decade. Neither did recommendations work nor approaching directors. \u201cIn the last few years, I made cold calls to filmmakers and went to meet them. Everyone told me that they\u2019ve seen my work and will consider me for their next project but to be honest, that never happened. I\u2019ve been trying to make a comeback for the last 10-15 years but it didn\u2019t happen,” Rajat tells us. <\/p>\n

But Aryan Khan\u2019s The Ba***ds Of Bollywood brought him back to the limelight and he\u2019s all set to start the next chapter of his career, hoping that this time filmmakers take note of him and his acting skills. \u201cPlease pray for me that I get some good and big-ticket work so that I can show you what I\u2019m all about. I\u2019ve got so much more to share with the audience. My family and I are very fortunate and grateful that people have appreciated my work,” he remarks. <\/p>\n

And now that his children Vera and Vivaan have caught the attention of the industry, he wishes to do a film someday with them. \u201cI want to thank everyone for the love they\u2019ve showered on me and my family, my daughter, my son and my wife. They\u2019ve been away from the media. This is the first time that they got exposed to a premiere. My wife had never come with me to a screening. The media has noticed and loved my family. It\u2019s overwhelming. Now, we come in a family pack. Hopefully, someday you\u2019ll see us in a family pack in a film (laughs),” he says. <\/p>\n
