Guns N\u2019 Roses have addressed the recent onstage incident involving frontman Axl Rose, following a performance in Buenos Aires that went viral due to the singer\u2019s unusual behaviour. The band confirmed that Rose\u2019s actions were linked to technical issues, not any problem with their new drummer, Isaac Carpenter.<\/p>\n

During the band\u2019s concert at Estadio Hurac\u00e1n on Saturday, Axl Rose appeared visibly frustrated while performing the opening track, Welcome to the Jungle. Video clips circulating online showed him throwing his microphone toward the drum kit, kicking the kick drum, and leaving the stage abruptly. To the audience, he remarked, \u201cSo, I\u2019ll just try and wing this.”<\/p>\n

According to Female First UK, the outburst occurred early in the show and quickly drew attention from fans and the media.<\/p>\n

In a statement shared on their Instagram Story, Guns N\u2019 Roses clarified the cause of the incident. \u201cDuring the opening song at our recent Buenos Aires concert, Axl\u2019s in-ear monitor pack had only the percussion in his ears versus the entire mix. The issue was fixed by our tech by the third song, and we had a great night. The situation had nothing to do with Isaac Carpenter\u2019s playing, who is top notch and a great player,” the band wrote.<\/p>\n

The statement emphasized that Carpenter, who recently joined the group, was not at fault. The band praised him as a \u201ctop notch” drummer and reaffirmed his role in their current lineup.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Guns N\u2019 Roses parted ways with longtime drummer Frank Ferrer, who had been with the band for nearly two decades. Ferrer joined in June 2006, replacing Bryan Mantia, and played his final show in November 2023. The band described his departure as an \u201camicable exit,” though Ferrer later expressed that he felt \u201cdisappointed” about the way his tenure concluded.<\/p>\n

The current Guns N\u2019 Roses lineup includes Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Melissa Reese, and Isaac Carpenter.<\/p>\n

The band\u2019s clarification aims to reassure fans that the Buenos Aires incident was a technical mishap rather than tension within the group.<\/p>\n
