Keerthiswaran\u2019s first film as a director, Dude, with Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, is still making waves at the box office. The movie, released in Tamil and Telugu on October 17, just before Diwali, has been able to keep up its pace and is now nearly at the level of the Rs 100 crore club.<\/p>\n

Mythri Movie Makers, the production company, announced that Dude has made a total of Rs 95 crore worldwide in the first five days. On social media, the makers communicated the information by saying, \u201cDUDE keeps the fun going at the box office. #DUDE is a worldwide 5-day run with a total revenue of more than Rs 95 crore.”<\/p>\n

The film is said to have made Rs 66 crore in its first three days and reached Rs 83 crore by the fourth day, with the Diwali celebrations giving it a considerable lift. According to trade tracking website Sacnilk, the movie Dude gathered Rs 50.3 crore net in India only; however, it experienced a slight drop in Tuesday\u2019s earnings.<\/p>\n

DUDE continues the festivities at the box office <\/p>\n

Beats Love Today Lifetime Collection<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dude, whose storyline has been a point of contention, has managed to outperform the 2022 hit Love Today and the 2025 release Dragon of Pradeep Ranganathan. While Love Today made Rs 19.90 crore in five days and Rs 83.55 crore throughout its run, Dragon made Rs 64.50 crore in five days and Rs 150.52 crore overall.<\/p>\n

At present, Dude has exceeded the early earnings of both movies, thus making it a major box office success. The question of whether it can go beyond Dragon\u2019s total lifetime remains unanswered at the moment.<\/p>\n

Family Drama with a Twist<\/strong><\/p>\n

The film Dude is about cousins Agan (Pradeep Ranganathan) and Kural (Mamitha Baiju), who are very close to each other even though there is a quarrel between their parents, Agan\u2019s mother Parvathy (Rohini) and Kural\u2019s brother, minister Athiyamaan Azhagappan (Sarathkumar).<\/p>\n

Unexpectedly, when Kural asks Agan to marry him, the long-hidden family secrets come out, resulting in the uncovering of the deepest roots of the relationships. The mix of the film\u2019s emotional drama, family politics, and the great acting has become the main attraction for the audience during the festive season.<\/p>\n

A Promising Start for Keerthiswaran<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dude is a strong debut for director Keerthiswaran, whose story and direction got the credit for successfully combining the emotional with the mass appeal. The film, which is about to reach the Rs 100 crore mark, is one of the most successful festive-season Tamil movies, and thus, it renews the box office power of Pradeep Ranganathan.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
