Chhath Puja is celebrated particularly in Bihar and Nepal, but also in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. During this festival, devotees express gratitude to the sun and nature. Below are the dates and timings of Chhath Puja for 2025.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Chhath Puja 2025: Timing<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p id=\"2\" class=\"story_para_2\">Chhath Mahaparva begins six days after Diwali, on the sixth day of the lunar month of Kartik or Kartika Shukla Shashthi.<\/p>\n<p id=\"3\" class=\"story_para_3\">This year, the festival begins on Saturday, October 25, and concludes on Tuesday, October 28.<\/p>\n<p id=\"4\" class=\"story_para_4\">Hindu women hold fasts to seek the wellbeing of their children, while those childless, wish for children.<\/p>\n<p id=\"5\" class=\"story_para_5\">The auspicious timings for Chhath Puja vary across regions. The women fast the entire day and only take one meal after sunset.<\/p>\n<p id=\"9\" class=\"story_para_9\"><strong>Timings:<\/strong> Sunrise at 06:28 a.m., and sunset at 05:42 p.m.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Chhath Puja Day 2:\u00a0Lohanda\/Kharna\u00a0(Sunday, Oct 26)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p id=\"11\" class=\"story_para_11\">Kharna means purification while Lohanda refers to the fast. On the second day, devotees fast for the entire day, from sunrise to sunset, without water. As the sun sets, they offer food, mostly Rasiya Kheer, to Surya Dev and break their fast with the Prasad. This is their final meal before a 36-hour fast.<\/p>\n<p id=\"12\" class=\"story_para_12\"><strong>Timings:<\/strong> Sunrise at 06:29 a.m., and sunset at 05:41 p.m.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Chhath Puja Day 3: Sandhya Arghya\/Pehla Arghya\u00a0(Monday, Oct 27)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p id=\"14\" class=\"story_para_14\">The third day is the highly auspicious Shashthi Tithi. On this day, the most significant ritual, the Sandhya Arghya (evening offerings) is given.
