Chhath Puja 2025 Date And Time: <\/strong>Chhath Puja, dedicated to the worship of the sun or Surya Dev and his sister, Chhathi Maiya (Prakriti), the goddess of fertility, takes place over four days. Chhath Puja is celebrated particularly in Bihar and Nepal, but also in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. During this festival, devotees express gratitude to the sun and nature. Below are the dates and timings of Chhath Puja for 2025.<\/p>\n

Chhath Puja 2025: Timing<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Chhath Mahaparva begins six days after Diwali, on the sixth day of the lunar month of Kartik or Kartika Shukla Shashthi.<\/p>\n

This year, the festival begins on Saturday, October 25, and concludes on Tuesday, October 28.<\/p>\n

Hindu women hold fasts to seek the wellbeing of their children, while those childless, wish for children.<\/p>\n

The auspicious timings for Chhath Puja vary across regions. Given below are the timings for the National Capital Territory, as per Drik Panchang.<\/p>\n

Chhath Puja 2025 begins on Saturday, October 25, and concludes on Tuesday, October 28.<\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Chhath Puja Day 1: Nahay Khay\u00a0(Saturday, October 25)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Devotees take an early morning bath in the Ganga to begin the Puja. The women fast the entire day and only take one meal after sunset.<\/p>\n

Timings:<\/strong> Sunrise at 06:28 a.m., and sunset at 05:42 p.m.<\/p>\n

Chhath Puja Day 2:\u00a0Lohanda\/Kharna\u00a0(Sunday, Oct 26)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Kharna means purification while Lohanda refers to the fast. On the second day, devotees fast for the entire day, from sunrise to sunset, without water. As the sun sets, they offer food, mostly Rasiya Kheer, to Surya Dev and break their fast with the Prasad. This is their final meal before a 36-hour fast.<\/p>\n

Timings:<\/strong> Sunrise at 06:29 a.m., and sunset at 05:41 p.m.<\/p>\n

Chhath Puja Day 3: Sandhya Arghya\/Pehla Arghya\u00a0(Monday, Oct 27)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The third day is the highly auspicious Shashthi Tithi. On this day, the most significant ritual, the Sandhya Arghya (evening offerings) is given. Devotees observe a waterless fast for the entire day and offer water to the setting sun.<\/p>\n

Timings:<\/strong> Sunrise at 06:30 a.m., and sunset at 05:40 p.m.<\/p>\n

Shashthi\u00a0Tithi:\u00a0<\/strong>Surya\u00a0Shashthi \u00a0begins on October 27, 2025, at 06:04 a.m., and ends on October 28, 2025, at 07:59 a.m.<\/p>\n

Chhath Puja Day 4: Usha Arghya and Paran\u00a0(Tuesday, Oct 28)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On the final day, devotees offer prayers to the rising sun, after which the 36-hour-long fast is broken and Chhat Puja concludes.<\/p>\n

Timings:<\/strong> Sunrise at 06:30\u00a0a.m., and sunset at 05:39\u00a0p.m.<\/p>\n
