Heavy rains on Tuesday disrupted India\u2019s training session ahead of their crucial Women\u2019s World Cup match against New Zealand on Thursday.<\/p>\n

India and New Zealand will clash at the DY Patil Stadium in what could serve as a virtual quarterfinal, as both teams are vying for the last semifinal spot.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, while the White Ferns managed to train at the main ground and the university ground, India were not as fortunate.<\/p>\n

After completing their warmup drills, the Indian players had to retreat indoors as a heavy spell of rain and strong winds washed out their practice session.<\/p>\n

India will return on Wednesday afternoon for their final nets session ahead of the crucial clash on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Can India Qualify For Semis?<\/h2>\n

With Australia, South Africa, and England already confirmed for the semifinals, the final spot in the top four now lies between India and New Zealand. The two teams will face off in a high-stakes, must-win match that will likely determine who advances.<\/p>\n

A win against the White Ferns on Thursday will secure India\u2019s place in the semifinals. However, if they lose, India will find themselves in a precarious position, having to rely on other results. Should India lose to Sophie Devine\u2019s team, they must then defeat Bangladesh in their final group game on Sunday and hope New Zealand loses to England.<\/p>\n

In such a scenario, both India and New Zealand would finish with six points each, and qualification would hinge on the Net Run Rate (NRR). Currently, both teams have four points, with India ahead due to a superior NRR.<\/p>\n

If Thursday\u2019s match is washed out, it could actually benefit India, but only under certain conditions. They would still need England to beat New Zealand, and Sri Lanka and Pakistan must not reach six points.<\/p>\n

Both of India\u2019s remaining matches \u2014 against New Zealand and Bangladesh \u2014 will be played at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. If rain washes out both games, India will still reach the semifinals with six points, provided England does not lose to New Zealand. In that case, even if Sri Lanka or Pakistan also finish with six points, India\u2019s better NRR should secure their semifinal spot.<\/p>\n
