Kajol pays tribute to Asrani<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Veteran actor Govardhan Asrani, fondly known as Asrani, passed away on Monday<\/a> after a prolonged illness. He was 84. Actress Kajol, who recently worked with him in the web series \u2018The Trial\u2019, expressed her deep shock and sorrow over the veteran actor\u2019s death. Remembering him, she shared a video clip from their series \u2018The Trial\u2019. She expressed her condolences to the family, and wrote that she is sure he is in a much better place now. Asrani and Kajol also worked together in the 1995 film Gundaraj.<\/p>\n

Kajol took to her Instagram stories to share a video clip from The Trial that features her and Asrani in a court. While Kajol was seen as Noyonika Sengupta in the series, Asrani played Navroz Electricwala. In her message, Kajol wrote, \u201cIn shock as I heard this news. I\u2019m sure #Asrani Ji is in a much better place now. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.”<\/p>\n

Celebs Pay Tribute To Asrani<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, several celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Adnan Sami and others also mourned the death of Asrani. Anupam Kher recalled that he spoke to the veteran actor<\/a> just last week. \u201cDearest #AsraniJi! Thank you for making the world a better place to be in with your persona!! On and off screen! We will miss you in physical form! But cinema and your ability to make people laugh will keep you alive for years to come! Om Shanti!”\u00a0he wrote.<\/p>\n

Adnan Sami paid tribute to Asrani and wrote on X, \u201cI am so saddened to learn about the passing of our dearest legend Asrani ji. A man who was a genius of his craft & an artistic treasure. Although people will always remember him for his incredible comedy but he was a man of all seasons & styles. His dramatic roles were equally brilliant. But alas, his \u201cAngraizon Ke Zamaanay Ke Jailor” from the Epic \u2018Sholay\u2019 will be remembered forever! I had the honour of working & spending time with him when I requested him to appear in my music video of \u2018Lift Karade\u2019 & I too wanted him to reenact his legendary \u2019Jailor\u2019 character for which he generously agreed.”<\/p>\n
