Former Bihar Minister and expelled RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav has announced his candidacy for the Mahua constituency in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.<\/p>\n

He will contest as the official candidate of the newly formed Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD), a political party he founded following his expulsion from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The JJD released its list of candidates on Monday for the upcoming elections, with Tej Pratap Yadav set to file his nomination from Mahua on October 16.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the media earlier, Tej Pratap stated that the party intends to field candidates across Bihar. Addressing speculation about the next Chief Minister, he said, \u201cWhoever will be Bihar\u2019s CM will be decided by the people.”<\/p>\n

Tej Pratap further stated that he will seek guidance from his spiritual mentor in Vrindavan before formally submitting his election nomination. Highlighting his focus on Mahua, he said, \u201cWe have already established a medical college here, now we aim to upgrade Mahua into a full-fledged district.”<\/p>\n

The names of 21 candidates have been announced for the first phase. He has also fielded a candidate against his brother, Virendra Yadav, the RJD MLA from Maner.<\/p>\n

Other key contests include Rahul Tiwari, son of Shivanand Tiwari, contesting from Shahpur, and JJD candidates standing against Aniruddha Yadav, a close associate of Tejashwi, from Bakhtiyarpur, as well as against former Education Minister Chandrashekhar in Madhepura.<\/p>\n

The Raghopur Assembly constituency, where Tejashwi Yadav is contesting, has not yet been included in the first list.<\/p>\n
