Star Sri Lanka allrounder Kavisha Dilhari was struck by cruel misfortune in one of the most shocking dismissals one would ever see, even as Bangladesh couldn\u2019t realise the wicket before the umpires stepped in. <\/p>\n

The drama unfolded on the very first delivery of the 20th over. Star left-arm spinner <\/span>Nahida<\/span> Akter<\/span> bowled a slider just outside off and <\/span>Dilhari<\/span> went for a late cut. Instead, the batter chopped the ball to the right of the keeper and it ricocheted onto the stumps. <\/span><\/p>\n

Broadcasters\u2019 replays showed the wicket and the Bangladesh cricketers realised it, returning to their positions without any appeal, <\/span>not even from the wicketkeeper Nigar Sultana Joty.<\/span><\/p>\n

The umpires paused the game for a quick discussion before referring the decision to the third umpire to check for a stumping. The replay then revealed the cruel twist of fate for <\/span>Dilhari<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

A<\/span>s the ball ricocheted onto the stumps, the Sri Lanka allrounder\u2019s leg was in the air and by the time it came down, the bails had already been dislodged. The giant screen flashed: \u2018OUT\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bangladesh cricketers only realised what had happened when the third umpire\u2019s verdict appeared on the big screen, triggering a wave of celebration, while <\/span>Dilhari<\/span> stood frozen in disbelief. <\/span><\/p>\n

Bangladesh delivered an inspiring bowling performance. What looked all set to be a challenging 270<\/span>\u2013<\/span>280 target for Sri Lanka unravelled, as their lower order collapsed, losing the last six wickets for just 28 runs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hasini<\/span> Perera<\/span>, who scored a career-best 85, anchored Sri Lanka\u2019s innings with her maiden fifty, putting together vital stands with captain <\/span>Chamari<\/span> Athapaththu<\/span> (46) and <\/span>Nilakshika<\/span> Silva (37). <\/span><\/p>\n

However, <\/span>Shorna<\/span> Akter<\/span> stole the spotlight with a brilliant spell of 10-4-27-3. Once the partnership between <\/span>Perera<\/span> and Silva was broken, Sri Lanka\u2019s lower order crumbled and Bangladesh wrapped up the innings at 202 in the penultimate over.<\/span><\/p>\n
