Ravichandran Ashwin rarely misses a chance to troll back a troll. On Sunday (October 19), he shared a screen-recording of his WhatsApp, talking to a fake contact of Australian cricketer Adam Zampa.<\/p>\n

The number, belonging to the United Arab Emirates, texted Ashwin, addressing him as \u2018brother\u2019, and asked for contacts of Indian cricketers Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Jasprit Bumrah, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh, and Shivam Dube. When Ashwin didn\u2019t reply, the troll even tried calling him.<\/p>\n

Ashwin then told him that he was \u2018sending the list shortly\u2019 and even asked the prankster if the list was \u2018enough\u2019 and whether the troll needed former skipper MS Dhoni\u2019s number too. The UAE texter they had Dhoni\u2019s number and even shared a contact card \u2018MS Dhoni Indian Cricketer\u2019.<\/p>\n

When the prankster asked Ashwin to share \u2018all\u2019 the player contacts he had, Ashwin replied, hilariously, \u2018Compiling in excel\u2019 and \u2018Preparing it for u\u2019. The chat was posted on his social media accounts:<\/p>\n

Ashwin has retired from all forms of international and domestic Indian cricket, including the IPL. He will now use his time to ply his trade in the various private leagues around the world.<\/p>\n

He put his name in the list for the UAE\u2019s ILT20 league auction at the highest base price of USD 120,000 (INR 1.06 crore), but no team bid for him in the first round. Ashwin then pulled his name out of the accelerated auction, refusing to lower his price.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the price I wanted as a bare minimum, and I\u2019m happy not to play at this stage of my career if my value isn\u2019t met,” Ashwin told Cricbuzz.<\/p>\n

After putting his name for ILT20, he also signed up to play for Sydney Thunder for half of the season of the Big Bash League 2025-26 in Australia. After going unsold, he confirmed to Thunder that he\u2019d be available for the full season \u2014 which begins on December 14 with the final on January 25.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was about to pull out a few days before the auction because of the Thunder deal, but since I had already committed to the ILT20 that I would enter the auction, I honored my word. However, I did not agree to lowering my base price,” he added.<\/p>\n
