Pooja Bedi, daughter of veteran actor Kabir Bedi, recently opened up about one of the most devastating chapters in her life \u2014 the tragic death of her brother, Siddharth Bedi, who took his own life at the age of 25 following a prolonged battle with schizophrenia. Speaking in an emotional interview with Siddharth Kannan, Pooja revealed how deeply the incident affected her, especially as she was pregnant with her daughter, Alaya F, at the time.<\/p>\n

Pooja Bedi Opens Up on Fearing Miscarriage After Brother\u2019s Death<\/strong><\/p>\n

Recalling the moment she received the heartbreaking news, Pooja said she was terrified that her emotional trauma could harm her unborn baby. \u201cThey tried to calm me down. I wanted to stay calm for the child in my tummy. I didn\u2019t want the trauma to lead to a miscarriage or impact my baby,” she said. \u201cI stayed positive. As much as I loved him and missed him, I knew his journey had ended, and mine still had to continue.”<\/p>\n

Pooja shared that her father, Kabir Bedi, was in the United States with Siddharth when the tragedy occurred. He was the one who discovered his son\u2019s lifeless body \u2014 a moment, Pooja said, that she \u201ccannot even begin to imagine.”<\/p>\n

Siddharth Bedi\u2019s Final Note and Messages to Family<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a heartbreaking revelation, Pooja shared that her late brother had left behind a note for their family, which included touching messages for her and her unborn child, as well as their mother. \u201cThat incident was unnecessary, but he decided to end his journey,” she said softly. \u201cI really wish he had done things differently and lived.”<\/p>\n

The Long Struggle With Schizophrenia<\/strong><\/p>\n

Opening up about Siddharth\u2019s battle with mental illness, Pooja explained that his condition had been misdiagnosed for years before doctors finally confirmed schizophrenia. \u201cHe was in America. I was in India. I was dealing with my own challenges, being married, trying to be the perfect wife,” she said. \u201cI was busy while he was suffering. Initially, they said it was depression, then bipolar disorder. It took a long time to reach the correct diagnosis of schizophrenia.”<\/p>\n

Remembering Their Bond<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reflecting on their childhood, Pooja described Siddharth as her \u201cpartner in everything.” The two shared a deep, inseparable bond. \u201cWe were very close. We shared everything \u2014 the same bedroom, the same friends, even the same toothbrush sometimes,” she recalled with a bittersweet laugh. \u201cWe loved the same food, went to the same boarding school, and spent every moment together.”<\/p>\n

Despite the years that have passed, Pooja\u2019s words carry the same weight of grief and love \u2014 a sister remembering not just her brother\u2019s pain, but also his light. \u201cHe was suffering deeply,” she said, \u201cbut I hold on to the happy memories we made. That\u2019s how I keep him alive within me.”<\/p>\n
