Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

As Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh continue to compete over the potholed roads and investment opportunities in Bengaluru, Telugu Desam Party leader and Minister in the Andhra government on Thursday launched a jibe on the Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government stating, \u201cAndhra food is spicy and some of their investments too”.<\/p>\n

Taking to X, Lokesh wrote, \u201cThey say Andhra food is spicy. Seems some of our investments are too. Some neighbours are already feeling the burn.”<\/p>\n

In addition to the jibe launched at the Karnataka government, the Andhra minister also used tags such as #AndhraRising #YoungestStateHighestInvestment.<\/p>\n

The latest round of swipe follows Google\u2019s plans to build an artificial intelligence hub in Visakhapatnam and invest $15 billion for a mega project.<\/p>\n

Google\u2019s decision to opt for the big investment in Andhra became a point of criticism of the Karnataka government by several opposition leaders with JDS suggesting that Bengaluru, the country\u2019s own Silicon City, was overlooked for the project due to the Congress government\u2019s failure to create a business-friendly environment.<\/p>\n

In addition to this, Karnataka is also facing criticism following a a tweet by Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw who commented on the increasing potholes and degrading quality of roads and asked, \u201cWhy are the roads (in Bengaluru) so bad\u2026 Why is there so much garbage\u2026 Doesn\u2019t the government want to support investment?”<\/p>\n

Soon Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Congress leader Priyank Kharge defended the state. \u201cYou can\u2019t match Bengaluru infrastructure, startups, human resources, and innovations\u2026” Shivakumar said, dismissing attempts to poach businesses and industrial investment.<\/p>\n

Responding to Mazumdar-Shaw\u2019s lament, Kharge said, \u201cConstructive criticism is welcome.” He further cited factors like \u2018unprecedented rains, high growth rate, massive urbanisation as the result of large numbers of migrant workers\u2019 for the infrastructure problems.<\/p>\n

Karnataka Minister Attacks Andhra Pradesh<\/h4>\n

Following the comments of Nara Lokesh, Karnataka Minister Santhosh Lad while talking to CNN-News18,<\/em> said, \u201cThey have got a lollipop from the Centre that\u2019s why they are getting investment. Can they say Centre hasn\u2019t done its share in getting this investment? They can destablise the Union government with their numbers, hence they are getting it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we get lion\u2019s share of central finds, we will also do it,” he added.<\/p>\n
