With Bengal entering election mode, Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Thursday launched a new digital outreach initiative titled \u201cAmi Banglar Digital Joddha” (I Am Bengal\u2019s Digital Warrior).<\/p>\n

Party sources told News18 that Abhishek Banerjee, ahead of the 2026 assembly elections, has decided to take on the BJP in the digital space. With a growing number of people forming their opinions through social media, TMC believes that building a positive perception about Bengal online is crucial.<\/p>\n

According to party insiders, the BJP already has a strong and organised digital team that shapes its political narrative. The \u201cAmi Banglar Digital Joddha” campaign has been designed specifically to counter that digital influence and project a positive image of Bengal.<\/p>\n

Banerjee went live at around 2pm to launch the campaign, saying: \u201cPolitical battles are fought not just on the streets or in Parliament, but increasingly in the digital space, where Bangla-birodhis are spreading fake narratives. Those who don\u2019t live here are attempting to project a distorted image of Bengal. External forces, driven by vested political interests, are trying to undermine our pride and identity. The time to respond is now.”<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cAmi Banglar Digital Joddha is our collective answer\u2014a people-powered movement driven by the youth, creators, and dreamers who refuse to let falsehoods dominate. These digital warriors will protect the idea of this great land and carry its message across the country and the world.”<\/p>\n

TMC sources said the initiative aims to mobilise content creators, social media managers, and digital amplifiers who will shape and spread the party\u2019s narrative online. There will be different classifications in this campaign too such as content creator, social media manager and digital amplifier.<\/p>\n

The registration process has already begun. Volunteers or \u201cJoddhas” can sign up through the official website or an online form. After registration, participants will undergo a four-week online and offline skill-based training, including orientation sessions on digital communication and content creation.<\/p>\n

While BJP leaders have dismissed the initiative, claiming that \u201cno digital campaign can save the TMC as people have already made up their minds for change”, TMC insiders remain optimistic. They believe this digital push will help the party strengthen its outreach among Bengal\u2019s tech-savvy and young voters.<\/p>\n
