Shruti Haasan is set to share screen space with some of Indian cinema\u2019s biggest icons in Coolie. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the high-octane action thriller features Rajinikanth in the lead, with key roles played by Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Sathyaraj. <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Shruti Haasan is all set to make her mark in Coolie, the much-anticipated action thriller headlined by superstar Rajinikanth and helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. While the film promises high-octane drama and a powerhouse ensemble, Shruti recently opened up about her role in the film and what it was like sharing the screen with some of the biggest names in Indian cinema.<\/p>\n

In a conversation with Sudhir Sreenivasan, Shruti shared her excitement about being part of such a stellar cast. \u201cI have combination scenes with all the actors in Coolie, and I am thrilled to share screen space with such a heavy-duty star cast,” she said, reflecting on the ensemble nature of the film.<\/p>\n

While earlier reports speculated that Shruti would be playing Rajinikanth\u2019s daughter, she clarified in a previous interview that her character is in fact the daughter of veteran actor Sathyaraj.<\/p>\n

When speaking about working alongside Rajinikanth, Shruti couldn\u2019t help but gush about the experience. Calling the icon a man with a \u201cgolden heart,” she said, \u201cI was blown away on set after witnessing his positive energy.” She went on to describe his legendary screen presence: \u201cHis expressions and dialogues are like a minimalized version of dance or fight choreography\u2014similar to seeing Bruce Lee\u2019s movies.”<\/p>\n

Coolie follows the story of Deva, a former daily-wage laborer with a dark and mysterious past who emerges from the shadows after decades to avenge a close friend. Rajinikanth plays the titular role in what promises to be a massy yet layered narrative packed with action, suspense, and political undertones.<\/p>\n

The film features an ensemble cast including Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Reba Monica John, Rachita Ram, and a cameo appearance by Aamir Khan. The soundtrack and background score are composed by Anirudh Ravichander, adding further buzz to the August 14, 2025 release.<\/p>\n

Shruti was last seen in Salaar: Part 1 \u2013 Ceasefire, directed by Prashanth Neel, where she starred opposite Prabhas. The film was the first installment in the gritty action saga, with Salaar: Part 2 \u2013 Shouryaanga Parvam already on the way. Up next, she will also be seen in a special role in Vijay Sethupathi\u2019s upcoming thriller, Train.<\/p>\n
