Ayodhya is once again poised to make history during this year\u2019s Diwali celebrations, with representatives from the Guinness World Records team already on site. This time, the ancient city is aiming to set three new world records, including the lighting of over 2.6 million oil lamps and a grand collective aarti<\/em> performed by 2,100 people.<\/p>\n

An impressive 35,000 volunteers from Awadh University are preparing to light 2,611,101 diyas<\/em> along the banks of Ram Ki Paidi, in what promises to be a breathtaking spectacle.<\/p>\n

Last year, around 2.5 million lamps were lit, but this year\u2019s target surpasses that, with a total of 2.9 million diyas<\/em> planned for placement.<\/p>\n

Guinness Team Uses Technology To Ensure Accuracy<\/h2>\n

The Guinness World Records team, comprising around 150 members, is not merely observing the event but playing an active role in validating the record attempt. According to Nishchal Barul, an advisor to the Guinness team, three methods will be used to ensure a precise count of the diyas<\/em>: drones, high-tech software, and digital auditing systems.<\/p>\n

When asked how every diya<\/em> is counted, Nishchal Barul explained that their verification process involves a dry run, detailed digital mapping, and live drone surveillance, all to guarantee accuracy and complete transparency. \u201cWe\u2019re not just repeating history \u2014 we\u2019re creating it anew,” he added.<\/p>\n

Mass Aarti On The Sarayu River To Set Another Record<\/h2>\n

Alongside the record-breaking diya<\/em> lighting, preparations are also underway for a mass aarti<\/em> on the Sarayu River, where 2,100 people will perform the ritual together. A dedicated team of 190 individuals is working around the clock to coordinate this grand event, which is also expected to enter the record books.<\/p>\n

Special software has been developed to monitor the movements and participation of each individual involved in the aarti<\/em>. The dry run phase has already begun to ensure seamless execution. \u201cWe are using a combination of dry runs, drone footage, and digital verification tools to maintain the authenticity of the record,” said Nishchal Barul.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Deepotsav<\/em> in Ayodhya is not just a celebration of lights, but a celebration of unity, tradition, and global recognition; one that\u2019s set to illuminate not only the ghats of Ayodhya but also the pages of history.<\/p>\n
