The Indian govt has issued a critical alert for Edge users<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

The Indian government has raised a new warning for Microsoft Edge users which leaves them vulnerable to serious hacking threats. The alert comes via the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team or CERT-In this week. <\/span><\/p>\n

The security agency in its October 15 bulletin, claims that the web browser from Microsoft has multiple security vulnerabilities that could allow an attacker to bypass the security of your device and give them access to the data stored on it.<\/span><\/p>\n

The security agency has given it a High severity rating which is never ideal and this warning is a sure sign for people to be careful of how they use the browser.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Microsoft Edge Security Issue: What The Alert Says<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The security agency has defined the issues plaguing the Edge browser, who can be targeted and what kind of attacks they could face. \u201cMultiple vulnerabilities exist in Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) due to Heap buffer overflow in Sync and Use after free in Storage. A remote attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by persuading a victim to visit a specially crafted web page,” this is what the agency with its bulletin has mentioned.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A remote attacker could exploit these issues by persuading the victim to visit a specially crafted website\/HTML page. They will also be able to trigger remote code execution, perform UI spoofing, exploit stack, and heap corruption on the targeted system. The targets can be anyone from an individual to big organisations using Windows systems with Edge browser pre-installed on them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
