Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has landed in hot water after his recent appearance on Two Much, the new Prime Video talk show hosted by Kajol and Twinkle Khanna. The actor, who appeared alongside Salman Khan on the premiere episode, was caught off guard when the hosts questioned the long-standing age gap between male and female leads in Bollywood.<\/p>\n

During the episode, Kajol posed a pointed question: \u201cWhen the hero romances a younger heroine, it\u2019s called cinema magic. But when an older heroine romances a younger man, it\u2019s called \u2018bold.\u2019 Why do you think that is?” In response, Aamir appeared unsure and asked, \u201cHave I done any films with very young heroines? Have I? I don\u2019t know.” His comment left many surprised \u2014 including Twinkle, who immediately reminded him of his much younger co-stars over the years.<\/p>\n

Twinkle And Salman Step In As Aamir Defends Himself<\/strong><\/p>\n

Twinkle Khanna, never one to hold back, countered Aamir\u2019s claim by listing examples: \u201cKareena Kapoor, 45, in 3 Idiots (2009), Talaash (2012), and Laal Singh Chaddha (2022).” To this, Aamir smiled and replied, \u201cBut did Bebo and I not look the same age?” The moment quickly turned light-hearted when Salman Khan jumped in with a quip, \u201cYou did not, I did,” referring to his own films with Kareena like Bodyguard and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.<\/p>\n

Aamir, trying to justify his stance, explained that casting often depends on the story\u2019s demand. He cited Dil Chahta Hai (2001), where Akshaye Khanna\u2019s character falls for an older woman, played by Dimple Kapadia \u2014 Twinkle\u2019s mother \u2014 as an example of such storytelling choices. However, his explanation didn\u2019t sit well with everyone.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the episode aired, a video clip of Aamir\u2019s remarks went viral on social media, triggering widespread criticism. Many netizens called out what they saw as the actor\u2019s \u201cselective memory” and lack of accountability.<\/p>\n

One user wrote, \u201cFatima Sana Shaikh played his daughter in Dangal and his love interest in Thugs of Hindostan \u2014 and they are 30 years apart.” Another fan said, \u201cI love these 90s stars, but they must accept that the era of older heroes romancing 20-something actresses is over.”<\/p>\n
