Mirzapur Movie:<\/strong> Actress Shweta Tripathi has officially commenced shooting for the highly anticipated Mirzapur: The Movie, stepping once again into the shoes of her beloved character, Gajgamini \u201cGolu” Gupta. Known for her powerful portrayal across the web series, Shweta now brings Golu to the big screen for the first time, marking a new chapter in the franchise\u2019s journey.<\/p>\n

Shweta Tripathi Begins Filming Mirzapur: The Movie <\/strong><\/p>\n

According to sources, Shweta was visibly elated and emotional as she stepped onto the sets in Varanasi, the city that has been integral to Mirzapur\u2019s world. Having lived with the character for several years, Shweta shared that Golu continues to hold a deep and personal place in her heart.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the experience, Shweta Tripathi said, \u201cGolu is not just a character for me, she has been a companion, a part of my life for so many years. To see her journey unfold on the big screen is overwhelming and surreal. Benaras is like my second home, it is so special because so many of my milestones are connected to this city. From Masaan to Mirzapur seasons 1 and 2, from Escape Live to Kalkoot, every project here has given me something unforgettable. My trainer Tridev Pandey, who is like a brother to me, is also from Benaras, which makes it even more personal. This beautiful city of worship keeps calling me back, and I keep returning for its people, its food, and the love it has always given me.”<\/p>\n

With Mirzapur: The Movie set to carry forward the legacy of the cult-favourite franchise, fans are eager to see how Golu Gupta evolves in this cinematic adaptation.<\/p>\n

About Mirzapur: The Movie<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mirzapur franchise starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, and Rasika Dugal, has amassed a massive fanbase over three seasons on Prime Video. Its gritty portrayal of power, revenge, and politics in the heartlands of Uttar Pradesh has made it a cultural phenomenon. Now, director Gurmmeet Singh is taking the story to theatres, turning the hit web series into a full-fledged feature film- a first in India.<\/p>\n

Backed by Farhan Akhtar\u2019s Excel Entertainment, it is a cinematic adaptation of the popular Prime Video series and will bring back the original cast, except Vikrant Massey. The big-screen adaptation is slated for a 2026 theatrical release across India before making its way to OTT platforms.<\/p>\n

Apart from Shweta Tripathi, the film also marks the return of the lead actors from the series, like Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu, Divyenndu as Munna Bhaiya, Abhishek Banerjee as Compounder, Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi. Adding to the cast is Jitendra Kumar, who will be replacing Vikrant Massey in Mirzapur: The Film, as well as Ravi Kishan and Mohit Malik in significant roles.<\/p>\n
