Sensex Today: <\/strong>Indian benchmark indices are set for a muted start on Tuesday, tracking mixed signals from global markets and after US President Donald Trump announced a 25% tariff on all medium- and heavy-duty truck imports into the US, effective November 1.<\/p>\n

At 8:16 AM, GIFT Nifty futures were trading 6 points higher at 25,199, indicating a flat opening for domestic equities.<\/p>\n

Across Asia, markets showed a mixed trend. Japan\u2019s Nikkei hit a fresh record high for the second straight session, buoyed by a tech rally on Wall Street after a landmark deal between OpenAI and AMD \u2014 widely seen as a direct challenge to chip giant Nvidia.<\/p>\n

In early trade, Nikkei rose 0.81%, South Korea\u2019s Kospi surged 2.7%, while Hong Kong\u2019s Hang Seng slipped 0.67%, and China\u2019s CSI 300 added 0.45%.<\/p>\n

On Wall Street overnight, indices closed mixed as the prolonged US government shutdown entered its second week, delaying key data releases, including the September jobs report. The S&P 500 climbed 0.36%, Nasdaq gained 0.71%, while the Dow Jones dipped 0.14%.<\/p>\n
