Rahul Patil is the new CTO of Anthropic. <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Brilliant minds from India, who have usually completed their degrees from the premier technology institutions in India, typically IITs, have made their names at the global level by helming global giants. Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Adobe Systems CEO Shantanu Narayen are a few names to mention in the long list of them. The IIT tag is a coveted badge<\/p>\n

But a few exceptions came who just broke the stereotype of not being an IITian and rose to the high echelons without the coveted badge.<\/p>\n

AI research firm Anthropic has roped in Rahul Patil as new chief technology officer (CTO). As CTO of Anthropic, Patil oversees engineering functions including compute, infrastructure, inference, and product engineering. His appointment aligns with Anthropic\u2019s strategic focus on scaling its AI infrastructure to meet growing demand.<\/p>\n

Patil resides in Seattle with his wife, Aruna Patil, and their two children. He maintains strong ties to Bengaluru, his hometown, and is an avid cricket enthusiast.<\/p>\n

Patil hails from Bengaluru, India. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from PES Institute of Technology (PESIT) in 2002. He then pursued a Master\u2019s in Computer Science from Arizona State University and an MBA from the University of Washington.<\/p>\n

Patil began his career at Microsoft, spending nine years in various engineering roles. He later joined Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he helped build data processing platforms. At Oracle, he served as Senior Vice President for Cloud Infrastructure, overseeing compute, storage, and security services. Before joining Anthropic, Patil was the CTO at Stripe, where he played a pivotal role in scaling the company\u2019s engineering capabilities and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
