An Indian employee-cum-entrepreneur, who was working in a full-time US remote job, got fired due to his overindulgence in his startup six months back. However, his efforts on his startup paid back when, nine months later, his startup Dreamlaunch achieved certain sustainable milestones.<\/p>\n

On March 13, during his morning stand-up meeting, Harshil Tomar\u2019s team lead informed him that the company had to \u201cpart ways,” citing his growing focus on his startup as the reason.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt that point, Dreamlaunch was making only $1,000 per month, which wasn\u2019t enough to give me confidence to go all in,” Tomar recalled. For nearly two weeks, he wrestled with the choice of seeking job security or taking the leap into entrepreneurship. With just nine months of savings as runway, he eventually decided to live frugally and dedicate himself fully to building his venture.<\/p>\n

His co-founder, Wasim, backed the decision, even foregoing his own pay to ensure Tomar could stay afloat. However, Tomar chose not to disclose the move to his parents, who still believe he works at his previous job.<\/p>\n

The journey was far from smooth. \u201cIn these six months, I\u2019ve seen all highs and lows\u2014from having zero clients in some months to working with the biggest brands,” he said. Yet persistence paid off.<\/p>\n

Dreamlaunch crossed $50,000 in revenue, achieved $10,000 monthly recurring revenue at its peak, secured sponsorships, and was selected for a residency program. The team is now preparing to scale from two people to ten.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on his gamble, Tomar admitted, \u201cThis bet could have gone wrong. I could have shut things down and gone back to a job. But I took the scary jump, and the universe rewarded me.”<\/p>\n

For him, the milestone is more than just numbers\u2014it is the fulfillment of a childhood dream inspired by watching Shark Tank USA.<\/p>\n

\u201cLock in, work hard. Figure out what you want. Ignore the opinions of others. And do so much volume that it would be unreasonable that you\u2019d be unsuccessful,” he motivated others in the X post.<\/p>\n
