Late actor Rishi Kapoor may no longer be present in the film industry, but his sharp humour, unpredictable temper, and memorable anecdotes continue to echo through Bollywood. His name resurfaced recently on Kajol and Twinkle Khanna\u2019s talk show, \u201cToo Much with Kajol and Twinkle”, where Twinkle Khanna, Varun Dhawan, and Alia Bhatt recalled humourous and heartfelt moments with the veteran star.<\/p>\n

On the show, Varun Dhawan narrated a lighthearted episode from the sets of his debut film Student of the Year<\/em>. Recalling Kapoor\u2019s characteristic bluntness, Varun said, \u201cRishi ji said, \u2018What is this? Your hair doesn\u2019t move at all. Whether it\u2019s a storm or a hurricane, your hair doesn\u2019t budge. You\u2019re playing football, your hair should move. Remove this gel, I won\u2019t give the shot.'”<\/p>\n

The actor revealed that Kapoor even walked up to him, inspected his hair, and then summoned director Karan Johar to complain. Karan instructed Varun to \u201cmove his hair”, only for Varun to respond that the gel made it impossible. Rishi Kapoor, unimpressed, insisted once again that the gel be removed. \u201cThe next shot wasn\u2019t taken until the gel was completely gone,” Varun added, sending the studio audience into laughter.<\/p>\n

Alia Bhatt, who later worked with Rishi Kapoor in Kapoor & Sons<\/em> (2016), shared more emotional memories. Speaking of their evenings together on set, she said, \u201cRishi ji had so many wonderful stories to tell. After shooting, he would invite everyone together for dinner. That atmosphere was very special. I miss him a lot.”<\/p>\n

Alia also reflected on how her daughter Raha, with actor Ranbir Kapoor, reminds people of the late star. \u201cWhen people see Raha, they say she is a mini Rishi Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. There is a little bit of Rishi ji\u2019s energy in her, which is visible from time to time.”<\/p>\n

Twinkle Khanna, too, recalled a witty incident that once caused a storm on social media. She recounted how Rishi Kapoor had wished her on her birthday by tweeting that she was in her mom\u2019s tummy when he was serenading her mother, Dimple Kapadia. The remark triggered speculation, with many jokingly branding her as Rishi Kapoor\u2019s \u201cillegitimate daughter”.<\/p>\n

\u201cI almost became a Kapoor because of Alia\u2019s father-in-law. On my birthday, he tweeted very generously, \u2018Oh you know\u2026 when you were in your mother\u2019s stomach, I serenaded her\u2019. So everybody thought that I was his illegitimate daughter. Then he got trolled and had to clarify, saying, \u2018No, I am so sorry\u2019,” Twinkle said, laughing about the incident.<\/p>\n

Twinkle quickly quipped, \u201cI am not your sister-in-law, it was a mistake.” Varun Dhawan then joined the banter, saying that Alia was not able to understand how to react to the revelation. <\/p>\n

It is worth noting that Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle Khanna\u2019s mother, had made their debut together in Raj Kapoor\u2019s 1973 classic Bobby<\/em>. Few years ago, Rishi Kapoor had sent Twinkle a quirky birthday wish referencing the iconic song \u201cAksar koi ladka”, saying, \u201cHappy Happy Birthday dear one! You were in your mum\u2019s tummy when I was serenading her in Bobby in 1973 lol.”<\/p>\n

However, after much trolling, Rishi Kapoor quickly set the record straight, tweeting, \u201cKuch logon ko problem kya hai<\/em>? Kakaji and Dimple were married, Bobby was still incomplete, we shot that song when Dimple was 3 months pregnant. Kakaji-Dimple married in March, 1973. Bobby released September 28, 1973. Twinkle born December 29, 1973.”<\/p>\n

Even years after his passing, Kapoor\u2019s legacy continues to be celebrated not only through his films but also through the countless stories that colleagues and friends fondly recount, stories marked equally by his quick temper, irreverent wit, and unmistakable warmth.<\/p>\n
