Rising India star Abhishek Sharma has returned home after a player-of-the-tournament award winning performance in the Asia Cup 2025. Abhishek finished as the highest run-getter of the tournament, belting 314 runs at a strike-rate of 200 as India became the champions.<\/p>\n

Abhishek scored three half-centuries as he consistently gave India supersonic starts while opening the innings. On Tuesday, the youngster returned home from the UAE where the regional competition was held.<\/p>\n

The left-handed batter appeared in high spirits as he was mobbed by paparazzies at the airport with one wondering where his player-of-the-tournament trophy was.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how the 25-year-old responded.<\/p>\n

Abhishek is a highly rated batter who first came to limelight when India won the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2018 under Prithvi Shaw\u2019s captaincy with the squad also featuring Shubman Gill and Arshdeep Singh. He made his India debut last year during a bilateral T20I series in Zimbabwe following a phenomenal IPL season with Sunrisers Hyderabad.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026we had a plan that we want to play a game, that we have to show intent from the first ball. So that was my plan, I worked really hard on that,” Abhishek said during the post-match presentation on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if you\u2019re playing like this, you need special support from your coach and captain. I think that was the one thing I was getting from them throughout the tournament, before this as well. So obviously, my plan was pretty much clear that, you know, if I do well, if I get that impact, and it\u2019s for my team, my team should win,” he added.<\/span><\/p>\n
