BIGHIT MUSIC has provided an update on its continued legal efforts to protect BTS from harmful online and offline activities targeting the members. On September 29, the agency released a statement in English outlining its zero-tolerance approach toward malicious posts, stalking, and privacy violations.<\/p>\n

The statement explained that legal action has been initiated against authors of harmful posts identified through fan reports and monitoring of domestic platforms like Naver, Daum, DC Inside, Instiz, Ilgan Best, FMKorea, and music sites such as Melon, Bugs Music, and Genie Music. International social media channels including X, Instagram, and YouTube were also included in the monitoring efforts.<\/p>\n

Criminal Complaints And Ongoing Investigations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even in anonymous online spaces, acts that defame artists, spread false rumors, or use insulting language can result in criminal punishment under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. Some criminal complaints filed last year were forwarded to prosecution in July with a recommendation for indictment, while investigations for new cases are ongoing. Suspects are being summoned for questioning, and warrants have been executed in certain instances.<\/p>\n

Protecting BTS Members\u2019 Safety And Privacy<\/strong><\/p>\n

BIGHIT MUSIC also addressed recent incidents of attempted break-ins at BTS members\u2019 homes, noting active cooperation with authorities to ensure thorough investigations. The agency emphasised that trespassing, loitering outside private residences, leaking personal information, or any act infringing on the artists\u2019 privacy is punishable under criminal law.<\/p>\n

The agency concluded its statement by urging fans to respect the safety and privacy of BTS, expressing gratitude for their dedication. \u201cWe are always grateful for the affection and dedication shown by the fans of BTS. BIGHIT MUSIC will continue to work to ensure that the rights of our artists are fully protected,” the statement read.<\/p>\n
