According to the latest ESIC data, 31,146 new establishments were registered in July under the ESI Scheme.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

The Employees\u2019 State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) enrolled 20.36 lakh new workers under the Employees\u2019 State Insurance (ESI) Scheme in July 2025, according to the latest provisional payroll data released by the Ministry of Labour and Employment on September 26.<\/p>\n

The figure marks an increase from June, when 19.37 lakh workers were added, reflecting a month-on-month growth of 98,694 enrolments.<\/p>\n

Out of the total new registrations in July, 9.85 lakh workers \u2014 about 48.37% \u2014 were below the age of 25, highlighting the entry of a significant number of young people into the formal workforce, according to the statement.<\/p>\n

The gender-wise data shows that 4.33 lakh women joined the scheme during the month. Additionally, 88 transgender employees were also enrolled, underlining ESIC\u2019s efforts to extend social security benefits across diverse sections of society.<\/p>\n

The ESIC data further shows that 31,146 new establishments were registered in July under the ESI Scheme, bringing more workplaces and employees within the ambit of statutory social security coverage.<\/p>\n

The ESI Scheme provides medical care, cash benefits during sickness and maternity, and compensation in case of employment-related injuries to insured workers and their dependents.<\/p>\n

Officials noted that the payroll data is provisional, as updates are part of a continuous process.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, , according to the recent Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), India\u2019s labour market continued to show positive momentum in August 2025, with the overall unemployment rate easing to 5.1%. This marks the second consecutive month of decline after the rate fell from 5.6% in June to 5.2% in July.<\/p>\n

Male unemployment dropped to 5% in August, its lowest level in five months, highlighting a steady improvement in labour market conditions for men. On the other hand, female participation indicators showed notable progress, pointing towards greater workforce engagement by women.<\/p>\n

The Female Worker Population Ratio (WPR) rose to 32% in August, compared to 31.6% in July and 30.2% in June. The overall WPR also edged up to 52.2%, reflecting a broader increase in employment across genders.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the Female Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) climbed to 33.7% in August, up from 33.3% in July and 32% in June, underlining an encouraging trend in women entering the labour force.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
