The Dhruv Jurel-led India A side on Friday created history to become the first team in A Tests to chase down a 400-plus target. Chasing a whopping 412, India rode on a daddy hundred from KL Rahul, a century from Sai Sudharsan and a half-century from Jurel to go past the line.<\/p>\n

Having been asked to chase down 412, openers Rahul<\/a> and Narayan Jagadeesan provided India a strong foundation with an 82-run opening partnership, before the latter was dismissed for 36 by Todd Murphy.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Rahul retired hurt, reportedly with a fever. Sudharsan then joined hands with Devdutt Padikkal and nightwatchman Manav Suthar, but both of them departed for five runs.<\/p>\n

Rahul came back after Suthar\u2019s dismissal early on Day 4 and added 78 runs with Sudharsan for the fourth wicket, before the latter was dismissed by Corey Rocchiccioli, caught by Campbell Kellaway for 100.<\/p>\n

Rahul and Jurel then built a match-winning 115-run partnership before the latter was dismissed by Rocchiccioli, caught by Jack Edwards for 56. The former then added another 31 runs with Nitish Kumar Reddy to take India past the line.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Australia A posted 420 in the first innings, riding on Sam Konstas\u2019 49 and three half-centuries from captain Nathan McSweeney, Edwards and Murphy.<\/p>\n

India were bowled out for just 194 in their first innings, with Sudharsan\u2019s 75 the only notable knock. Henry Thornton picked up four wickets.<\/p>\n

Australia were bowled out for a paltry 185 in their second innings, with McSweeney scoring 85 and wicketkeeper Josh Phillippe scoring a half-century. Gurnoor Brar and Suthar picked three wickets apiece as India were handed a 412-run target.<\/p>\n
