WhatsApp continues to make changes to the platform that are focused on keeping the content and your presence private. The messaging app has a very handy mute feature which blocks all the chat alerts depending on how long you want to avoid them. <\/span><\/p>\n

But with so many WhatsApp groups now part of our daily lives, it is important to change with time, and that\u2019s what the app is looking to do by going deeper with the mute feature. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to the latest findings, WhatsApp will soon let you mute notifications for all kinds of group chats, including the ones where everyone is mentioned. Chat alerts are important but not all the time and it seems the platform is customising its use based on the preferences of the user.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

WhatsApp Group Chat Mute For Everyone<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The details about the new Mute feature has been spotted by WaBetaInfo<\/em> in the latest Android beta 2.25.27.1 version this week. The beta test is being done with a select group, as said by the tipster so a wider release could happen at a later date.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now coming to the actual use case of the new mute option and how it works. The tipster has shared a clip of the new feature being tested, where you can enable the mute for @everyone on WhatsApp, particularly for groups. This means WhatsApp will not notify you even when everyone is mentioned in a chat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As you can see here, the WhatsApp group notifications will get the new mute option below the regular mute feature which should reflect in the new beta version rolling out soon. WhatsApp has allowed group alerts for everyone which is useful and this new update brings something that works the other way and mute the alerts. <\/span><\/p>\n

We expect WhatsApp to bring more ways to customise the new mute option which will ensure that people don\u2019t miss out on the important messages from work, or about any personal event from friends and family.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
