Jasprit Bumrah\u2019s workload management has been a topic of discussion since the start of the recent England tour. However, the versatile pacer might make himself available for the upcoming Tests against the West Indies, hinted India\u2019s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

If India plays the Asia Cup final on September 28, they will have four games in seven days. Considering Bumrah participates in all of them, he would have bowled 23 overs in the tournament.<\/p>\n

Doeschate believes this could be sufficient preparation for Bumrah ahead of the red-ball series starting on October 2 in Ahmedabad.<\/p>\n

When asked if Bumrah could be rested during the Super 4s, Doeschate disagreed.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, there\u2019s obviously a game tonight (Pakistan vs Sri Lanka) and our game tomorrow night and we\u2019ll have a better understanding of how the table sits. But it\u2019s very unlikely that you go into the last game knowing you\u2019ve qualified. So, I\u2019d say it\u2019s unlikely that he\u2019ll get a rest,” he clarified before the match against Bangladesh.<\/p>\n

Will Bumrah Play Tests Vs West Indies?<\/h2>\n

Doeschate also hinted at the home series against the West Indies.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlso bearing in mind we have a Test match starting on Thursday. So, it\u2019s actually quite good preparation in terms of workload management. He\u2019s probably going to bowl a few overs in all the games and bowl in the region of 25-26 overs with the training and the preparation going into the game, which is a fairly good number the week before a Test,” the Team India assistant coach explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, if we have the luxury to have that option in the last game, we can look at it. But I\u2019d say we\u2019re going to pick our best team for every game. He obviously fits into that picture.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we feel it\u2019s the right amount of work going into the Test match and obviously the importance of this competition as well,” he added.<\/p>\n
