A video of BJP workers forcing a Congress worker to wear a sari in Dombivali sparked a political clash after he allegedly posted a morphed image of PM Modi.<\/h2>\n

A political uproar broke out between the BJP and Congress workers in Maharashtra\u2019s Dombivali on Tuesday after a purported video of BJP workers forcibly draping a sari on a 73-year-old Congress worker surfaced on social media platforms.<\/p>\n

The issue ignited when the Congress worker, identified as Prakash \u201cMama” Pagare, allegedly posted a morphed and defamatory image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.<\/p>\n

The image reportedly showed PM Modi draped in a sari, prompting protests and a street showdown by the BJP workers. The BJP also alleged that the image was shared with a song that they claimed was derogatory and insulting.<\/p>\n

In retaliation, the BJP summoned Pagare and made him wear a saree.<\/p>\n

In the video shared on social media platforms, BJP workers can be seen holding Pagare in place at Manpada Road, while one of them draped a pink sari around him, despite his feeble protests.<\/p>\n

\u201cGlory be to the Bharatiya Janata Party!” the workers chanted, after they had finished draping the Congress leader in the pink sari.<\/p>\n

The protest was led by BJP\u2019s district president for Kalyan, Nandu Parab, who strongly condemned Pagare\u2019s earlier actions.<\/p>\n

\u201cPosting such a distasteful image of our Prime Minister is not only offensive but also unacceptable. If such attempts are made again to defame our leaders, the BJP will give an even stronger reply,” he said as quoted by Navbharat Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Congress Objects<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Meanwhile, the Congress condemned the response, calling it an attack on free expression.<\/p>\n

Party state president Harshwardhan Sapkal said the elderly man was forcibly taken out of a hospital, and an attempt was made to make him wear a saree. \u201cWe condemn this incident. This elderly man is being abused in a casteist manner,” Sapkal said, adding that the act was carried out by \u201ca thug nurtured by the BJP”.<\/p>\n

Kalyan Congress President Sachin Pote told\u00a0Times of India<\/i>\u00a0that the BJP could have lodged a police complaint against Prakash Pagare instead of misleading him.<\/p>\n

\u201cPagare is a 73-year-old senior party worker. If he had posted something objectionable, BJP members should have lodged a complaint with the police instead of misleading him and then forcibly making him wear a sari,” he said.<\/p>\n
