Harbhajan Singh lambasted Pakistan\u2019s senior fast-bowling pair of Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf after the Asia Cup 2025 defeat against India in the Super 4s stage on Sunday, September 21.<\/p>\n

The former Indian spinner took a brutal dig at the two outspoken pacers for their verbal altercations with Indian cricketers and overall conduct during the clash in Dubai. Additionally, he also put up a social media post across platforms, striking out the \u2018greatest\u2019 from Star Sports\u2019 Greatest Rivalry<\/em>\u00a0campaign in a dig at Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Shaheen and Rauf tried to play mental games to get under the skin of India\u2019s swashbuckling openers Abhishek Sharma (74) and Shubman Gill (47) during their 105-run partnership. But they were given a fitting response with the bat by the two Punjabi lads, who retained their dominant streak and helped India eat out a significant portion of their run-chase of 172 in another impressive win over the arch-rivals.<\/p>\n

For Harbhajan, Shaheen, and Rauf had to be a little more responsible with their behaviour and focus solely on separating the aggressive and impactful Gill-Abhishek duo early in the proceedings for Pakistan\u2019s sake after posting an insignificant 171\/5 on a flat pitch.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf talks were to win the game, I think they would have won. But it was between bat and ball, and I think that\u2019s where India were far, far ahead of Pakistan,” Harbhajan said on Sports Today.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir senior bowlers like Haris or Shaheen Shah Afridi, they went for plenty. They couldn\u2019t get a single wicket in the first six overs. They are the most experienced players. So if your experienced players are only shouting and talking, and not able to deliver with the ball or bat, you\u2019ll see the results they are getting.”<\/p>\n

During the game, Rauf also made insensitive gestures towards the Indian section of the packed Dubai crowd and received widespread flak for his actions. While Shaheen was a little more restrained, his attempt at sledging Gill and Abhishek proved counterproductive, as the duo hammered his first spell inside the powerplay. Pakistan\u2019s lead seamer ended with figures of 0\/40 in his team\u2019s six-wicket defeat.<\/p>\n

Harbhajan said it showed India weren\u2019t bothered by the Pakistani jeering and played with amazing skill in yet another Asia Cup triumph over the neighbours. \u201cLet them talk, we will talk with the bat and ball, and we will answer when required the best,” the turbanator concluded.<\/p>\n
