Amul Products Price Cut:<\/strong> The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the maker of Amul products, on Saturday said it will cut retail prices of over 700 product packs \u2014 including ghee, butter, ice cream, bakery, and frozen snacks \u2014 to pass on the benefit of the GST rate reduction to consumers. The revised prices will come into effect from September 22, 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis revision is across the range of product categories like butter, ghee, UHT milk, ice cream, cheese, paneer, chocolates, bakery range, frozen dairy and potato snacks, condensed milk, peanut spread, malt-based drink, etc,” GCMMF said.<\/p>\n

The statement noted that, \u201cAmul believes the reduction in prices will spur consumption of a wide range of dairy products, particularly ice cream, cheese and butter, as the per capita consumption remains very low in India, creating a large growth opportunity.”The 56th GST Council approved a major rationalization of GST rates on milk and milk products, effective September 22. Under the new structure, most dairy items will either be tax-free or taxed at just 5 per cent. Ultra-High Temperature (UHT) milk and pre-packaged paneer or chhena will now be fully exempt from GST, while items such as butter, ghee, dairy spreads, cheese, condensed milk, milk-based beverages, ice cream, and milk cans will attract a uniform 5 per cent rate, down from the earlier 5 to 18 per cent range.(With PTI Inputs)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
