Dasun Shanaka came out to bat at No. 5 for Sri Lanka on Saturday, September 20, against Bangladesh in Dubai and remained unbeaten on 64 runs from 37 balls. During his stay at the crease in the ongoing Super 4s match, he hammered three fours and six sixes and added 57 runs for the fifth wicket with Charith Asalanka (21) to help Sri Lanka post a total of 168\/7 in 20 overs.<\/p>\n

The six sixes on Saturday helped Shanaka become the first Sri Lankan batter to hit half a dozen sixes in an Asia Cup T20I match. A total of six more batters have smacked six or more sixes in an Asia Cup T20I match before Shanaka.<\/p>\n

The six sixes on Saturday also helped Shanaka equal Sanath Jayasuriya\u2019s record of hitting the most sixes in an Asia Cup match (ODIs and T20Is combined) for Sri Lanka. During his 130-run knock against Bangladesh in Karachi on June 30, 2008, Jayasuriya hammered six sixes.<\/p>\n
