The Australian women\u2019s cricket team created history on Saturday, September 20, by becoming the first team in the world to post a total of more than 400 runs against India in a Women\u2019s ODI match. In the third and final ODI of the ongoing three-match series between India and Australia currently underway at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Women in Yellow skipper Alyssa Healy won the toss and opted to bat first, after which, riding on No. 4 batter Beth Mooney\u2019s 138-run knock, Australia posted a total of 412\/10 in 47.5 overs.<\/p>\n

The previous highest total in ODIs against India was 371\/8 in 50 overs, which was also posted by Australia in Brisbane on December 8, 2024.<\/p>\n

For Australia, apart from Mooney, opener Georgia Voll and legendary Ellyse Perry also scored half-centuries in the series decider.<\/p>\n

During her stay at the crease, Mooney faced 75 balls and hammered 23 fours and 1 six. She added 106 runs for the third wicket with Perry (68) and 82 runs for the fourth wicket with Ashleigh Gardner (39). She needed just 57 balls to cross the 100-run mark, and the century in 57 balls helped her take the No. 2 position in the list of batters to score the fastest century in Women\u2019s ODIs.<\/p>\n
