There has been some uncertainty about the exact start date of Shardiya Navratri 2025, as the Pratipada tithi<\/em> of Shukla Paksha<\/em> in the month of Ashwin<\/em> spans both September 21 and 22. This has led many to wonder exactly when Shardiya Navratri begins.<\/p>\n

To clear up this confusion, Astrologer Dr Mrityunjay Tiwari from Maharishi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University, Ujjain, clarifies that according to the Panchang<\/em>, Shardiya Navratri officially begins on the Ashwin Shukla Pratipada tithi, <\/em>the recognised first day of the festival.<\/p>\n

Beginning Of Shardiya Navratri 2025<\/h2>\n

To clarify, Astrologer Dr Mrityunjay Tiwari explains that this tithi starts at 9:24 pm on Sunday, September 21 and lasts until 9:18 pm on Monday, September 22.<\/p>\n

Generally, the Ashwin Shukla Pratipada tithi<\/em> spans two days \u2014 September 21 and 22 \u2014 but the Udayatithi<\/em> (the tithi<\/em> at sunrise) of the Navratri fast is considered for the start. On this basis, Ashwin Amavasya tithi<\/em> falls on September 21 at sunrise, while Ashwin Shukla Pratipada tithi<\/em> begins at sunrise on September 22. Therefore, Sharadiya Navratri officially starts on September 22.<\/p>\n

This year, Sharadiya Navratri falls in September instead of October and lasts for ten days, with Durga Visarjan<\/em> or Vijayadashami<\/em> occurring on the eleventh day.<\/p>\n

According to the calendar, the first day of Sharadiya Navratri is Monday, September 22. On this day, it is customary to worship Maa Shailputri, the first form of Maa Durga.<\/p>\n

Shardiya Navratri \u2018Kalash Sthapana Muhurat\u2019<\/h2>\n

The most auspicious time (Muhurat<\/em>) for Kalash Sthapana<\/em> this year is Abhijeet Muhurat<\/em>, which falls between 11:55 am and 12:43 pm on the first day of Navratri. Other favourable timings include early morning from 6:19 am to 7:49 am, and later from 9:14 am to 10:45 am.<\/p>\n

Kalash Sthapana<\/em> will take place during Shukla Yoga<\/em>, an auspicious yoga lasting from morning until 7:59 pm on the day. Uttaraphalguni Nakshatra<\/em> prevails during Ghatasthapana<\/em> until 11:24 am, after which Hasta Nakshatra<\/em> begins.<\/p>\n
