Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani remains one of the most popular films to date. Released in 2013, the movie was directed by Ayan Mukerji and starred Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin in the lead. Actor Muzammil Ibrahim<\/a> had previously claimed that when Ayan was writing the movie, he was considering him for the role of Avi \u2013 which was later played by Aditya Roy Kapur. Now, he has revealed what really went wrong and why he was never given the script of YJHD.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, Muzammil, who previously also dated Deepika Padukone, talked about the casting of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and shared, \u201cI think it got stuck at casting. I spoke to Ayan about it later, and we clarified it as well. It was a misunderstanding. I was expecting that Ayan would send me the script, but he didn\u2019t. And perhaps, it was my fault that I didn\u2019t ask for it, that Ayan, you told me you would give me the script.”<\/p>\n

\u201cThat communication was being done via the casting people, even though Ayan and I were very good friends at the time. We had been discussing the process, but when the conversation shifted towards casting, I don\u2019t know how they conducted the communication. Even the casting guys play a lot of games,” he added.<\/p>\n

Muzammil Ibrahim Was Not Removed Because Of Deepika Padukone<\/h4>\n

In one of his previous interviews, Muzammil was asked if he was not being considered for YJHD had anything to do with Deepika Padukone, who was in a relationship with him in the past. To this, Ibrahim told Siddharth Kannan, \u201cThis had nothing to do with her”. However, he claimed that it was he who suggested Deepika\u2019s name for the movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe would often discuss casting with me, if he should take Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif\u2026 He would discuss this with me. We were very close. Deepika was the right cast for that film and I told him the same thing,” Muzammil said.<\/p>\n
