Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s 75th birthday on Wednesday, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj praised the unwavering support the team received from the country\u2019s leader, regardless of their on-field results.<\/p>\n

Siraj, who has become an integral part of the Indian team in recent years, recounted how PM Modi\u2019s words boosted the team\u2019s morale after their 2023 ODI World Cup loss to Australia in Ahmedabad. The Rohit Sharma-led side missed out on their third title as Australia clinched their record-extending sixth trophy by six wickets. PM Modi also commended the team with a phone call following their T20 World Cup victory in Barbados last year, and later hosted them at his New Delhi residence.<\/p>\n

He was impressed by the PM\u2019s \u2018grasping power\u2019 and \u2018sharp intelligence\u2019. \u201cI met Modi ji during the 2011 World Cup. I broke protocol; he broke the ice with a hug. Over the years, we have met on various occasions, and I have come to admire the person he is.
