Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s remarks about \u2018infiltration crisis\u2019 in Bihar, and said that such comments are \u2018diversionary tactics\u2019 before the Bihar Assembly elections.<\/p>\n

Speaking to reporters in Patna ahead of leaving for the adjoining Jehanabad district to launch \u201cBihar Adhikar Yatra,” Yadav said that he wanted to know if the Prime Minister had been able to identify a single infiltrator in Bihar.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us, for a moment, assume that there are infiltrators in Bihar. Then the question arises, what have you (Modi) been doing all along? You have been in power for 11 years. Besides, you (BJP-led NDA) have been ruling the state for 20 years,” he said as quoted by news agency PTI.<\/p>\n

Yadav also pointed to last year\u2019s Jharkhand Assembly elections, saying that the BJP raised similar \u2018concerns\u2019 then only to \u2018forget about it\u2019 after the party-led National Democratic Alliance lost to the Congress.<\/p>\n

\u201cI must point out that it is a bogey they had similarly raised in Jharkhand last year when assembly polls were underway there. Now they have forgotten about that,” Yadav claimed.<\/p>\n

He alleged that accusations regarding foreign infiltrators are used by the BJP to hide its failure in providing good governance in the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe issue of infiltration is raised as a diversionary tactic. The NDA realises its failure in providing good governance, ensuring that people had jobs, education, health care, and their grievances were quickly and effectively redressed,” Yadav said.<\/p>\n

His remarks came a day after PM Modi hit out at the Congress and the RJD over the issue of infiltration in the state, saying that the opposition has not only threatened the honour of Bihar but also the identity of Bihar.<\/p>\n

While addressing a public rally in Purnea, PM Modi warned that every infiltrator will have to leave the country.<\/p>\n

He had accused the Congress, RJD and its ecosystem of advocating for infiltrators, saying that these people have been \u201csaving them and shamelessly raising slogans and taking out yatras to save infiltrators who have come from abroad. These people want to put both the resources and security of Bihar and the country at stake.”<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister further vowed that the people of Bihar are going to give a befitting reply to the Congress and RJD in the upcoming state legislative assembly elections.<\/p>\n
