India Refuse Handshake With Pakistan After Asia Cup Win<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Team India registered a convincing 7-wicket win in their Asia Cup group-stage fixture against Pakistan on Sunday. Chasing a paltry 128, captain Suryakumar Yadav top-scored with an unbeaten 47 as India sealed the game with 4.1 overs to spare. However, the players didn\u2019t interact or even shake hands after the fixture in Dubai concluded.<\/p>\n

Usually, the members of both teams shake hands after the completion of a cricket match and indulge in deep discussions. But on Sunday, seriousness prevailed at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium when the Indian and Pakistani players headed straight to their respective dressing rooms. Suryakumar Yadav finished the game with a six off Sufiyan Muqeem, called up his partner Shivam Dube, and quietly walked down the dressing room.<\/p>\n

According to The Times of India, India\u2019s gesture left Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson upset, who went near the Indian change room.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the presentation, Suryakumar dedicated the win to the Indian armed forces.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust wanted to say something. Perfect occasion, taking the time out, we stand by the victims of the families of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity. Want to dedicate the win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery. Hope they continue to inspire us all and we give them more reasons on the ground whenever we get an opportunity to make them smile,” the Indian captain said.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Sahibzada Farhan scored a valiant 40 off 44 balls, but the rest of the Pakistani batters cut a sorry figure on a docile track. Shaheen Afridi hit a 16-ball 33 not out towards the end to take Pakistan past 125. Spinners Kuldeep Yadav (3\/18) and Axar Patel (2\/18) helped India restrict Pakistan to 127 for nine after Salman Agha opted to bat first.<\/p>\n

In reply, India completed the chase in 15.5 overs with skipper Suryakumar Yadav (47 not out off 37 balls), Abhishek Sharma (31 off 13) and Tilak Varma (31 off 31) making significant contributions.<\/p>\n

No Handshake at Toss<\/strong><\/p>\n

Earlier, both captains \u2013 Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Ali Agha \u2013 refrained from any interaction and even avoided a handshake. Pakistan won the toss, after which Salman headed directly to Ravi Shastro for a quick chat without even looking at his counterpart.<\/p>\n
